Map design!
So to help clarify why and were we wanted the player to go I decided to draw up a map on the rooms whiteboard, obviously not all the decisions made it into the first area.
Clues and evidence will be used to give the player ideas on where to investigate and who to talk to, finding a matchbook with the Diners name on it for example.
Other areas will contain trigger boxes that cause something strange or mysterious to happen, a flying saucer going by in the distance for example, this will also be accompanied by the stereotypical theremin tune to give some feedback to the player.
An idea for the use of evidence was to show them to NPCs to get information from them while also using evidence instead of a point system, the more evidence the player finds the more in depth their end level report becomes giving them a higher score rating.
