Menus
I used the night to design a main menu piece, I began concepting ideas and asking for feedback from the group. I used that feedback and chose to make an FBI case file as it suited the game genre and atmosphere.
To begin with I used a FBI file as a reference, this helped with the markings and other small details. I left the 4 bars empty for Matt to attach buttons to in Unity. The confidential stamp and the small logo on the bottom left are premade assets I edited in Photoshop. On the far left are my original concept ideas of how the menu could work, the idea of the case file flipping open wasn't chosen due to constraints.
After I'd finished the main menu I began work on the Pause menu. I played with the idea of the menu being a coffee thermos to roll off the idea of the player taking a "break". I then thought about the 50's setting and decided it should be on a pack of cigarettes, I used a Marlboro pack as the reference and colour scheme. It was fairly easy to draw but the shading took a little longer. The text will be removed and Matt will add buttons over the areas in Unity.
